The short version
Until around 2017 this domain hosted the catalogue of an academic book publisher specialising in educational research. That imprint was absorbed by a larger academic publisher, the catalogue moved to the acquiring publisher's platform, and the domain later lapsed. It is now used for this site.
This site is not that publisher, is not affiliated with it, and does not speak for it. The books, their descriptions and their sample chapters are the property of their publishers and authors. None of that material is reproduced here, and no attempt is made to present this site as a continuation of it.
Why the old links do not resolve to the old pages
Two reasons, and it is worth separating them. The catalogue pages themselves are gone from this domain because the material is not ours to serve. And where a title is still in print, the publisher's own site is the correct place for it — a copy here would be both an infringement and worse information.
What we can do is send a reader who arrived on a subject to a page that covers that subject seriously. Where an old URL carried a recognisable topic, its link now resolves to the page below that treats it. Where the URL carried no topic (an order form, a shopping-cart step, a session-id link), it resolves here.

Search for its title and ISBN directly. Titles from the former catalogue are generally still available from the acquiring publisher, and most academic libraries hold them. We deliberately do not maintain a copy of the catalogue, a list of ISBNs, or links to retail listings: doing so would make this site an index of somebody else's product without their involvement.
Citing the works named on this site
Several briefs name titles from the former catalogue, because they are relevant to the subject and because it is honest to acknowledge what this domain was. Those references are to the published works and should be cited from the works themselves, not from this site. Where a brief quotes an idea rather than a sentence, that is stated in the text.

Why does my link to a book page land here?
Because that page is gone from this domain. The catalogue belonged to an academic publisher whose imprint was absorbed by another publisher, and the material is not ours to serve. Old URLs that carried a recognisable subject are redirected to the page here that covers that subject; the rest arrive on this page.
Can I download the sample chapters that used to be at these addresses?
Not from us. Those PDFs are the publishers' and authors' property, and hosting copies would be an infringement as well as worse information than the publisher's own listing. Search for the title and ISBN directly.
Is this site run by the former publisher?
No. There is no affiliation with the former publisher or with the publisher that acquired the imprint, and none is implied anywhere on this site. The domain lapsed and is now used for an independent set of briefs on education research.
Why do some old URLs still return an error instead of redirecting?
Because those pages are gone and nothing here covers what they covered. Between the catalogue and this site the domain carried other material entirely, on subjects these briefs do not treat, and a handful of addresses are old catalogue machinery with no subject in them at all. Sending either to a brief would answer a question nobody asked, so the server states plainly that the page is gone rather than implying it moved.
How should I cite something a brief names from the old catalogue?
Cite the published work itself, not this site. Where a brief quotes an idea rather than a sentence, the text says so, and the works-referred-to list at the foot of each brief names the edition consulted.
