To all of our authors and editors, suppliers, vendors and customers:

We are very happy to report that the intended transfer of ownership of Sense Publishers to Brill has now been formalized.

We think this move will be highly beneficial for you as well as for Sense: Brill has a strong international sales force and a wide distribution to university libraries. Moreover, Brill has their own well-developed e-book platform, which is now quite essential in international academic publishing.

All of the current staff of Sense Publishers (including publishers Peter de Liefde and Michel Lokhorst) will continue to work under the new umbrella. It is highly important to Brill that Sense’s current business continues in the usual way. All editorial, production, marketing,  sales and distribution activities are meant to continue without any disruption or delay, and, of course, all author and editorial agreements will be honored.

Brill intends to continue Sense’s policy of keeping the books affordable to students.

Moreover, Brill is very keen to strengthen the Sense imprint with reference works and journals. Whilst continuing the complete current book program (with all the existing book series) the Sense team has already started developing these kind of publications and is keen to receive proposals and ideas.
