TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP
We are excited to share with you the next step for Sense Publishers with the intended
transfer of ownership to Brill.
We think this move will be highly beneficial for you as well as for Sense: Brill has a strong
international sales force and a wide distribution to university libraries. Moreover, Brill has
their own well-developed e-book platform, which is now quite essential in international
Most of the current staff of Sense Publishers (including publishers Peter de Liefde and
Michel Lokhorst) will continue to work under the new umbrella. It is highly important to
Brill that Sense’s current business continues in the usual way. All editorial, production,
marketing, sales and distribution activities are meant to continue without any disruption
or delay, and, of course, all author and editorial agreements will be honored.
Brill intends to continue Sense’s policy of keeping the books affordable to students.
The intended date of transfer is July1st.
